What We Do

‘Rediscovering it’s Secret Environments’

The ERDF SUNRISE Project is the biggest and most exciting nature conservation project currently working in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Across these two communities there are dozens of pockets of ‘trapped countryside’, green space areas, parks, gardens, ‘urban habitat corridors’ and abandoned sites which nature has reclaimed over the years. Lots of these areas are forgotten or overlooked by the people who live and work around them.

Between now and December 2020, the SUNRISE project will work in 16 areas like this to improve the habitats for wildlife and create a richer natural resource for local communities to enjoy.
